Wellspring Groups: Returning to (and Living From) the Foundations of IRF
Drop In Groups: Join with fellow focusers returning to the fundamentals of focusing practice, spending time there, cultivating the inner environment of change, deepening into the foundational practices of focusing and cultivating a focusing way of being that we carry forward into the rest of our lives. Each meeting has a starting theme and is open to questions on any topic. While there is no time for paired practice, there will be the potential to find a practice partner. I love the metaphor of a wellspring - an underground source of water that feeds a spring or well. It implies the rich inner world, not yet manifest, yet brimming with potential, that we can visit, be with, and from which can emerge fresh living forward energy and real steps of change. Visiting this wellspring is the heart of focusing practice.
We drift away from the heart of the practice over time and under stress - it just happens. Sometimes our focusing sessions start to feel stale or pointless, or like it’s “not working”. Or, we may wonder how to go even further with the practice. How to navigate challenges in focusing partnership. How to be a “better companion”. Or, we may just want an opportunity to ask questions and practice skills that we learned early on.
Meetings will enhance your skills as Focuser and Companion, helping to move from "I learned this" to "this lives in me." Themes will include slowing down, sensing freshly without labeling, welcoming what's here with open, friendly awareness, staying present with what is unclear without rushing to resolve it, and refining the art of listening to ourselves (and as companions). We will offer support with any questions or challenges that have arisen in your focusing and companioning practice.
